Grade 6 Grammar Lesson 7 Subject-verb agreement

The main verb in the simple present tense takes s or es if it is singular while the plural verb is without s or es.

he/ she/ it/ singular – verb + s/es

I/ you/ we/ they/ plural – verb (without s/es)

When a sentence begins with There, the verb must agree with the subject that follows it.
