Grade 7 Grammar Lesson 7 Reported speech
Change of speech from direct to reported speech means a different person is reporting what the actual speaker said. This means a change in first person (I, we) and second person (you) occurs.
1st person changes according to the speaker.
2nd person changes according to the person spoken to.
3rd person (he/ she/ it/ they…) remains unchanged.
