Grade 8 Grammar Lesson 3 State verbs and action verbs
Sometimes we can use a verb either for a state or an action. It depends on meaning.
The verb be is a state verb, but we sometimes use it in continuous to show temporary behaviour.
We can use am/ is/ are + being only with temporary behaviour, not with other things.
We can use some state verbs in the continuous tense to talk about a short period of time.
