Grade 8 Grammar Lesson 30 To infinitive and gerund

With many verbs, we can’t normally use to infinitive. They take gerund after them.

Here is a list of the most common verbs followed by a gerund.

enjoy

mind

suggest

stop

delay

risk

fancy

consider

admit

miss

involve

practice

finish

postpone

imagine

avoid

deny

We also use a gerund after:

give up (=stop)

put off (= postpone)

carry on/ go on (=continue)

keep or keep on (=do something continuously or repeatedly)
