When we are talking about travel, there’s a difference between gone and been.

We use the present perfect to talk about experience and achievement. We may use ever to ask about experience and achievement.

We may use once, twice, several times etc and expressions such as it’s/ this is followed by the first, the second time… with the present perfect to express experience and achievement.
