How do we report universal truths and facts?
How do we report imperative sentences?
Can we also use reporting verbs other than ‘say’ and ‘tell’?
- When somebody’s statement is a universal truth or is true upto the time of speaking, we don’t change the tense whether the reporting verb is present or past.
- We report Imperative sentence using told/asked + to or not to..
- Some sentences can be reported using reporting verbs like offered, suggested, advised, ordered, , cautioned, warned, requested etc looking at the nature of the meaning.
